Passion for Food
From field to school - fresh, local produce
Food is vital to life. I believe food goes further than providing nutrition. The enjoyment that can be gained from eating is so very important - from taking an interest in what we are eating to the social benefits of sitting and eating together, which in turn encourages children to try new and interesting flavours.
We are dedicated to sourcing and using only the highest quality ingredients. All of the ingredients used in The Farm Kitchen come from suppliers that are trusted and have consistently high food standards.
British produce is renowned for being some of the best in the World. We work closely with local suppliers and use as much fresh Lincolnshire produce as we can.
We have achieved the Select Lincolnshire provenance standard as a part of this. Select Lincolnshire aims to showcase the range and quality of Lincolnshire produce and support Lincolnshire producers.
Our meals contain over 15% organic ingredients. We try and use as many organic products as possible in our meals, ranging from beef, to fresh vegetables to flour, below are some of the suppliers we work with:
Locally sourced organic produce
Woodlands Organic Farm supply us with local organic potatoes, carrots, cauliflowers, cabbages, swede and parsnips.
Lower Hurst Organic Farm supply us with fresh beef
Maud Foster Organic Flour Mill supply us with organic flour
Marine Stewardship Council
The Marine Stewardship Council are a global organisation who work with the food industry to promote the best environmental choice in seafood. We only use fish from sustainable sources and don’t use any fish that are on their ‘Fish to Avoid’ list.
We can guarantee 100% traceability 'back to the farm' with all of our meat products. We only use farm assured meat in all of our meals.
The Farm Kitchen uses Lincolnshire beef supplied by G.Simpson Butcher's of Heckington and Organic British beef supplied by Lower Hurst Organic Farm in Derbyshire. We only use these 2 trusted meat suppliers, who follow our required high standards.
We have a very close working relationship with G.Simpson Butcher's. They source the beef we use from local Lincolnshire farms and insist on full traceability. All of the meat we use in our meals is farm assured. G.Simpson prepare all of our beefburgers themselves using the same high quality Lincolnshire beef.
We buy organic beef from Lower Hurst Organic Farm, click here to find out more about this prestigious farm. We use organic beef mince in our homemade lasagnes, bolognaise sauces and organic beef meatballs.
